| Mustangs Need Extras to Top Kodiaks | The Calgary Kodiaks got a superb performance from right fielder Joe Bates. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Billings. The Mustangs won the game, 6-4. In spite of the loss, Bates was named the player of the game. He went 3 for 5 with a home run and a double. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Billings reliever Nicolas Joubert picked up the win, upping his record to 1-1. Munemori Abe absorbed the loss. Everton Mailes finished the game for Billings and earned his 8th save.
The Mustangs got a big at-bat from designated hitter Pedro Pérez. For the game, Pérez was 1 for 4 with a hit by pitch, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the tenth, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run single. His 7th hit of the season gave Billings a 6-4 lead.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," Pérez said.
The Mustangs improved to a lofty 27-10.
