| Baristas Clip Sphinx in Tight Contest | The Cairo Sphinx got a sterling performance from shortstop Digi Mon, but the Baristas still prevailed, 5-4. Mon was named the player of the game in a losing cause. He was 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Rickey Turner got the save, the 8th for him this season. Silver Lake leads the Nick Adenhart League Tony La Russa Division by 4½ games.
The Baristas got a big at-bat from left fielder Toshikasu Okuda. For the game, Okuda went 2 for 4 with a double and a walk. In the top of the ninth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 29th hit of the season gave Silver Lake a 5-4 lead.
"I just try to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Okuda.
