| Jaeger Slugs Kodiaks to 8-5 Win | With left fielder Jerry Jaeger leading the charge, the Calgary Kodiaks defeated the Billings Mustangs, 8-5, at Foothills Stadium. Jaeger, who is tied for 5th in the DKL with a .437 on-base percentage, hit 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. Ramon Martinez was called on to finish, recording his 7th save. Losses have been rare for the Mustangs, who are now 25-10.
The Kodiaks got a big at-bat from second baseman John Bidwell. For the game, Bidwell went 1-3 with a walk. In the bottom of the sixth, with a runner on 3rd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 10th hit of the season gave Calgary a 6-5 lead.
Bidwell expressed little emotion after the game. "Every game we win now," he said, "is one less win we'll need to get in the end."
