| Vancouver Hot Streak Continues with 8-7 Win | Despite a fine performance by designated hitter Justin King, the Coronado Phantoms suffered a 8-7 loss to the Vancouver Canadians. King went 2-4 with 2 home runs and was hit by a pitch. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. Vancouver reliever Hank Emmons got the win, raising his record to 3-0. Bor-zeng Bei was tagged with the loss. Vancouver has now won 7 straight.
The Canadians got a big at-bat from right fielder Randy Stackhouse. For the game, Stackhouse was 1 for 4 with a double. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the third, with the bases loaded, he stroked a bases-clearing double. His 9th double of the season gave Vancouver a 4-1 lead.
"It wasn't our best performance," said Stackhouse, "but a win in this league is nothing to sniff at."
