| Cats Lose, 4-3, at Stars Field | The Indian Wells Aeropostales defeated the Fort Worth Cats, 4-3, at Stars Field today. Leading the charge for Indian Wells was first baseman Mike Matheny. He went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Losses have been few and far between for the Cats so far this season. Their record drops to 21-11.
Matheny had a game-changing single in the bottom of the seventh. On a 1-2 forkball from Emilio Peres, he banged a run-scoring single to right, giving the Aeropostales a 3-2 lead. It was the 16th hit of the year for Matheny.
After the game, Matheny refused to speak to a reporter for the Indian Wells Bulletin. "You've accused me of throwing teammates under the bus," he said. "So, excuse me if I decline to answer your questions."
