Fireballs Turn Back Redbirds, 4-2

Fans who gathered at The Firepit saw a good contest between the Joplin Fireballs and Candiac Redbirds.

The Joplin Fireballs got a strong performance from pitcher Roy Aitken, who stymied the Candiac offense en route to a 4-2 win at The Firepit. Joplin is off to a sluggish start, getting just their 11th win in 31 games.

Joplin right fielder Jamie Thompson delivered a solo home run in the bottom of the fifth. Overall, he went 3 for 4, including 1 home run, 1 single, and 1 double. He scored 1 run and batted in 2.
