| Canadians Stun Phantoms, 3-2 | In a low-scoring tilt between the Vancouver Canadians and the Coronado Phantoms, David Peralta was the difference-maker. The Vancouver right-hander earned player of the game honors in the 3-2 win. Vancouver reliever Juan Manuel was credited with the win, to go to 1-0. Satoshi Yamada took the loss for Coronado. The Phantoms fall to 15-18 and continue their wobbly start to the 2038 season.
The game was decided with one out in the bottom of the ninth. With Vancouver trailing 2-1, Cheol-chung Back hit a fastball from Satoshi Yamada to left for a 2-run home run. Just like that, the Canadians had a walk-off win.
Peralta told a Vancouver News reporter that he was "more than satisfied" with the win.
