The Albuquerque Cacti trumped the Canton Paczkis, 3-2, at Mckinley Park. Albuquerque third baseman Jared Howard was named player of the game for his performance. He was 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. The loss drops Canton to 18-13.
The Cacti got a big at-bat from catcher Jorge Hernández. For the game, Hernández was 1 for 4 with a home run. In the top of the ninth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 2nd home run of the season gave Albuquerque a 3-2 lead.
"We made a couple of mistakes," said Canton skipper Brian Moore, "and it cost us."
