| Caterpillars Rally For Late Win Over Cacti | Despite a great performance by Albuquerque left fielder Craig Whetzel, the Peoria Caterpillars defeated the Cacti by the score of 5-4 at Excavatar Park. Whetzel went 2-4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. Reliever Dennis Winkowski picked up the win. His record improves to 4-0. Melvin Arambula took the loss. The Cacti fall to 12-17 and continue their lackluster start in 2038.
Miguel Rangel drew 2 walks in 4 trips to the plate for Peoria. The slick-fielding third baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 4-4 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Melvin Arambula. It was his 11th RBI of the season.
"I'm not out there for personal accomplishments," Rangel told a Peoria Herald reporter after the game. "I'm out there to help the team win, and that's what we did today."
