Bombers Turn Back Cairo, 4-3

Despite a great performance by Cairo second baseman Devin West, the Bronx Bombers defeated the Sphinx by the score of 4-3 at Bronx Ballpark. West went 1-2 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Reliever Steve Rogers Jr. picked up the win. His record improves to 1-0. Alberto Dimas took the loss. The Sphinx drop to 14-16 and continue their inconsistent start to the 2038 season.

Bill Gaffaney, who is tied for 3rd in the DKL in extra base hits with 14, aided the Bronx cause with a run-scoring double in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the right fielder went 1 for 3 with a double.

"Winning is the only thing that really matters," Gaffaney told the Bronx Today. "If you can win without even breaking a sweat, more power to you."
