| Caterpillars Score Late to Upend Cacti, 4-3 | The Peoria Caterpillars defeated the Albuquerque Cacti, 4-3, in Darryl Kile League action at Excavatar Park, with Peoria pitcher Jack Mainjer named player of the game. Mainjer went 8 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 0, and struck out 5. His record improves to 1-3. Freddy Aguilar, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 7th save.
Had Pat Laswell not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Laswell hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Caterpillars.
