| Hits Galore: Moran Drills 6 Hits | Reno second baseman Patrick Moran went down swinging at Top of the Hill today, knocking out 6 hits even as his Raiders fell, 4-3.
"It was like I was hitting Little League pitching," Moran said after his 6-for-7 performance against the Bowling Green Racers. "No offense meant to Bowling Green, but it was like I was back in little league again -- I could see the ball that well."
After the game, his manager elaborated on the second baseman's improvements, saying Moran spent the offseason trying to shorten his swing and stay inside the ball.
"That's what I'm trying to do," Moran agreed. "Be quick to the ball and let it travel a little farther so I get a better look at it."
Patrick Moran singled in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 8th, singled in the 10th, struck out in the 12th and singled in the 15th.
So far this year Moran is batting .390 with no home runs. |
