Caterpillars Come Up Short at Reno
In a low-scoring game between Reno and Peoria, pitcher Tony Alfonso was excellent. The Reno right-hander was named the player of the game in Reno's 2-1 win. Ramón Gonzáles earned the save, his 1st. The Caterpillars, now 9-16, continue their sluggish start.

The Rockets got a big at-bat from right fielder David Decker. For the game, Decker went 2-4 with a triple and a double. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the fifth, with a runner on 3rd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 4th double of the season gave Reno a 2-1 lead.

"I just tried to attack the bottom of the zone," Alfonso said.
