| Redbirds Subdue Vancouver, 5-3 | The Candiac Redbirds took Vancouver pitcher David Peralta's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Stanley Park. The final score had Candiac getting past the Canadians, 5-3. Peralta went 6.1 innings and allowed 4 earned runs, striking out 8. Juan Disla earned the win for Candiac. He lasted 6.1 innings, allowing 3 earned runs on 8 hits, while striking out 8. With the win, he raised his record to 2-2. The Canadians drop to 11-15 and continue their inconsistent start to the 2038 season.
The Redbirds got a big at-bat from center fielder Bart Gascoyne. For the game, Gascoyne was 2 for 4 with 2 singles and a walk. He drove in 2 runs. In the top of the sixth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run single. His 15th hit of the season gave Candiac a 3-1 lead.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Gascoyne. "And not try to do too much."
