| Victory Pushes Bombers Record to 17-8 | The Bronx Bombers stopped the Birmingham Bears, 10-5, at Edgbaston. The Bombers got a big game from Bill Gaffaney, who was 4-4 with a double, 3 singles, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Tim Oliver, credited with the win, is now 1-0. He allowed 2 runs on 6 hits in 7 innings. The Bombers, now 17-8, have been red hot.
Gaffaney had a key at-bat for Bronx early in the game. With a runner on 2nd, he hit a run-scoring single. It was his 31st hit of the season and gave Bronx an early 1-0 lead.
