Rhinos Win at Hawaii, 10-1

A nice crowd turned out to see the Rubber City Rhinos and Hawaii Islanders clash at Aloha Stadium.

The Rubber City Rhinos went home winners at Aloha Stadium, thanks in large part to starter Katsutaro Nishikawa. Nishikawa silenced the Hawaii Islanders, enabling Rubber City to grab the 10-1 win. The winning pitcher was Nishikawa, now 1-2. He tossed 6 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 5 and fanning 8. Chion Hatanaka recorded his 1st save for Rubber City.

Tony Gomez aided the Rubber City cause with a 2-run home run in the top of the fifth. For the game, the designated hitter went 1-5 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.

Gomez told a Rubber City Herald reporter that he was "more than satisfied" with the win.

The Rhinos, with just their 6th win so far in 2038, have yet to catch fire.
