| Canadians Nip Redbirds, 1-0 | The Vancouver Canadians got a magnificent performance from pitcher Rogelio Pino, who stifled the Candiac offense en route to a 1-0 Canadians win at Stanley Park. Steve Higgins recorded the save for Vancouver, his 1st of the season. The Redbirds fall to 11-15 and continue their unimpressive start to the 2038 season.
The Canadians got a big at-bat from designated hitter Alvaro Colon. For the game, Colon went 1 for 4 with a home run. In the bottom of the first, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 2nd home run of the season gave Vancouver a 1-0 lead.
"I tried to mix it up, keep them off balance," said Pino.
