| Argonauts Jolt Cats with Late Rally | The Astoria Argonauts defeated the Fort Worth Cats, 4-2, in Darryl Kile League action at LaGrave Field, with Astoria pitcher Dave Hamm named player of the game. Hamm, now 2-2, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 5, walking 1, and allowing 1 earned run. Losses have been few and far between for the Cats so far this season. Their record drops to 17-8.
Late-game drama came in the top of the ninth inning. With no one out and a runner on 1st, the batter, Randy Griffin, hit a single. It helped Astoria seize the win.
"I tried to mix it up, keep them off balance," said Hamm.
