| Rockets Stymie Peoria, Take 3-1 Win | The Reno Rockets got a magnificent performance from pitcher Lance Crumpton, who stifled the Peoria offense en route to a 3-1 Rockets win at Red Rocket Field. Reno reliever Jeremy Jefferson picked up the win, upping his record to 1-3. Rich Virola shouldered the loss. Thomas Wright recorded the save for Reno, his 6th of the season.
The Rockets got a big at-bat from designated hitter Matt Sullivan. For the game, Sullivan was 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the sixth, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 1st home run of the season gave Reno a 3-1 lead.
"Good pitching, clutch hitting," said Reno skipper Wynn Decker. "I can't complain."
The Caterpillars fall to 8-15 and continue their unimpressive start to the 2038 season.
