Whatley Helps Detroit Cruise to 10-2 Win

The 2038 season is getting ugly for Peoria.

Benefiting from Chris Whatley's productive game, the Detroit Death Stars downed the Peoria Caterpillars, 10-2. Whatley was 3-4 with 2 home runs and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice for the Death Stars. Carlos Solís, credited with the win, is now 3-0. He allowed 2 runs on 6 hits in 5.2 innings. Juan Bernal recorded his 1st save for Detroit.

Whatley had a big at-bat with a runner on 1st in the top of the fourth inning, when he hit a 2-run home run. The Death Stars went on to win.

"We'll grab a cold one tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Whatley said.

The Caterpillars fall to 8-14 and continue their uninspiring start to the 2038 season.
