| Beavers Continue Hot Start to Season With Win | The rain made it unbearable at times; nonetheless, the faithful who endured the elements at Waterfront Park enjoyed themselves.
The Portland Beavers picked up a win at Waterfront Park, knocking off the Tonga G.o.D., 6-2. Starting pitcher Lance Bundy was an essential part of his team's success. Bundy, now 1-1, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 2 hits, while striking out 3, walking 2, and allowing 1 earned run.
The Beavers got a big at-bat from left fielder Mike Gamble. For the game, Gamble went 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the third, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 3rd home run of the season gave Portland a 2-1 lead.
"I tried to mix it up, keep them off balance," said Bundy.
Portland goes to 13-6 with the win.
