Benefiting from Juan Villanueva's productive game, the Cairo Sphinx downed the Canton Paczkis, 11-4. Villanueva drew 5 walks, while scoring 2 runs for the Sphinx. The win brings the Sphinx to 11-14, a soft start for a team that made the playoffs just last season.

A crucial at-bat came with runners on 1st and 3rd and two out in the bottom of the fourth inning. That's when designated hitter Luis Brusuelas got hit by a pitch. The Sphinx went on to win.

"We'll grab a cold one tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Villanueva said.
