| Kodiaks Prevail, 3-1, Over Joplin | The Calgary Kodiaks got a stellar performance from pitcher Sam Young, who handcuffed the Joplin offense en route to a 3-1 win at Foothills Stadium. Young got the win, improving to 3-0. He allowed 3 hits and walked 7 over 6 innings. Young allowed 1 earned run. The Fireballs fall to 7-15 and continue their uneasy start to the 2038 season.
The Kodiaks got a big at-bat from designated hitter Tim Gamelli. For the game, Gamelli was 1-4 with a home run. In the bottom of the fourth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 4th home run of the season gave Calgary a 2-1 lead.
"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Gamelli told the Calgary News.
