| Kirkendall goes 3-for-3, Cats Move to 16-6 | The Fort Worth Cats dealt the Bowling Green Racers a 7-2 loss at LaGrave Field. Jon Kirkendall was the star on offense. He was 3-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. The winner was Bobby Saxon in relief. His record improves to 2-0. Jason Keeping took the loss. The Cats, now 16-6, have been playing some good baseball.
The Cats got a big at-bat from second baseman Ken Bush. For the game, Bush was 1-4 with a double. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the fifth, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 7th double of the season gave Fort Worth a 2-0 lead.
"I'm just happy to help the team win," Kirkendall told the Fort Worth Herald.
