Bears Slip Past Indian Wells, 9-8

Benefiting from an exceptional performance from John Watt, the Birmingham Bears defeated the Indian Wells Aeropostales, 9-8. Watt went 3-5 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3 for the Bears. The Aeropostales, now 7-14, continue their poor start.

Victor Manzo had a clutch at-bat with no one out in the top of the eighth for the Bears. Coming up with a runner on 2nd and Birmingham trailing 8-7, he hit a 2-run home run.

"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Watt told the Birmingham Daily.
