Cats Clip Flash in Tight Contest

The Cats had to overcome a fine performance from Fairfield pitcher Gavin Taylor to grab a 6-1 win at Durham Bulls Athletic Park. Taylor allowed 1 earned run over 7 innings. Fort Worth reliever Bob Campos got the win, raising his record to 1-0. Danny Posada was tagged with the loss. Fort Worth, at 15-4, has sizzled in the early going.

Javier Santos, who is tied for 9th in the NAL in triples with 1, aided the Fort Worth cause with a run-scoring walk in the top of the ninth. For the game, the left fielder was 1-3 with a walk.

"We're in a marathon, not a sprint," said Santos. "But I like how we're playing right now."
