| Canadians Lose, 8-5, at Edgbaston | The Birmingham Bears topped the Vancouver Canadians by the score of 8-5, with the largest share of the credit going to catcher John Watt. Watt went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Bears. Daniel Farley picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 2-0. Tommy Brereton was tagged with the loss. The Canadians fall to 7-10 and continue to sputter in the early going.
Jeff Urban hit a bases-clearing triple off Cai-fei Men in the bottom of the sixth, which put the Bears in front, 7-4. Urban had 1 single, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 2 for 4.
