| Cats Win at Reno, 2-0 | The Reno Rockets wasted an inspired, 5.1-inning effort from starter Lance Crumpton, falling 2-0 to the Fort Worth Cats at Red Rocket Field. Fort Worth reliever Jamie Newitt picked up the win, upping his record to 3-0. Jeremy Jefferson took the loss. Earning his 6th save for Fort Worth was Maximino Pato.
A crucial at-bat came with runners on 1st and 2nd and one out in the top of the sixth inning. That's when catcher Rob Koller reached on an error by the SS. The Cats went on to win.
"Runs were at a premium," said Fort Worth manager Jon Hughes.
Fort Worth, at 12-4, has sizzled in the early going.
