| Phantoms Hope Win Turns Around Slow Start | With shortstop Bob Nichols leading the charge, the Coronado Phantoms defeated the Albuquerque Cacti, 5-3, at Phantoms Field. Nichols, who is tied for 6th in the NAL in triples with 1, went 3-4 with a home run and a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Getting the save was Jason Cole, his 2nd. Coronado is still hoping to get on a roll. The win is just their 6th in 15 games.
The Phantoms got a big at-bat from catcher Colin Mayhem. For the game, Mayhem went 1 for 4 with a double. In the bottom of the sixth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 4th double of the season gave Coronado a 3-2 lead.
"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said Nichols.
