Caterpillars Pull Off Thrilling Win in Extras
Peoria beat Astoria at Excavatar Park, eking out a 5-4 win. The win was due in large part to pitcher Jack Mainjer, who earned player of the game honors. The Argonauts, at 3-9, have stumbled out of the gate.

The game was at a stalemate until second baseman Cheong-u Pak came to bat in the bottom of the 11th. Facing Astoria pitcher Mike Horswill, he hit a first pitch fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Peoria on top, 5-4.

Mainjer said afterward that he was "glad the fans were treated to a good ballgame."
