| Sphinx Lose Again, 4-2, to Bears | Birmingham and Cairo duked it out at Pharaoh's Temple and the Bears came out victorious.
With catcher John Watt leading the charge, the Birmingham Bears defeated the Cairo Sphinx, 4-2, at Pharaoh's Temple. Watt, who is tied for 4th in the NAL in home runs with 4, went 2 for 5 with a home run, while scoring 2 times. Cory Hoffman was called on to finish, recording his 5th save.
Cairo had a runner on 1st in the bottom of the ninth. With no one out, Tadahisa Iwamoto stood at the plate, hoping to find a gap. Instead, he hit into a double play. The score remained 4-2, Birmingham. The Sphinx never could mount a comeback.
