| Cacti C LeMaster goes 3-for-3 in Win | The Albuquerque Cacti defeated the Coronado Phantoms, 7-4. Earning player of the game honors was catcher Ryan LeMaster, who went 3-3 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. Jimmy Turner picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-0. Ricardo Castillo was tagged with the loss. Hiroshi Nagasawa closed the door for Albuquerque, picking up his 1st save of the year.
Had Dustin Adkinson not delivered a key base hit in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 1st, Adkinson hit a 2-run home run. That made the score 5-4, in favor of the Cacti.
"Enjoyed this one," Adkinson told the Albuquerque Citizen. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
The Phantoms fall to 4-9 and continue to sputter in the early going.
