Alberto Dimas pitched well, but his team, the Cairo Sphinx, still dropped a 3-0 decision to the Fairfield Flash at Durham Bulls Athletic Park. The Sphinx, now 3-10, continue their slow start.

Fairfield took advantage of an error in the bottom of the sixth inning. The game was tied, 0-0, when John Pinnock hit a run-scoring single that was misplayed. It put Fairfield in front, 1-0.

"I still think this team has room for improvement," Pinnock told the Fairfield Herald.
