| Coal Miners Lose, 5-4, at Foothills Stadium | The Calgary Kodiaks did just enough to secure a 5-4 victory over the Antioch Coal Miners at Foothills Stadium. Nobody did more than first baseman Harley Hooper, who captured player of the game honors. Alex Nambo got the save, the 2nd for him this season. Calgary, now 6-4, has gotten their season off to a good start.
Hooper had a big at-bat with the bases loaded in the bottom of the second inning, when he hit a 2-run single. The Kodiaks went on to win.
"You get some opportunities, you better take advantage of them," said Antioch manager Hervé Barthélémy.
