| Redbirds Lose, 8-4, at The Death Star | Detroit Death Stars starter Perry Groenendijk was in fine form against the Candiac Redbirds at The Death Star, leading his team to a 8-4 win. The win was credited to Vincent Vickers in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Juan Disla took the loss. The Redbirds drop to 6-6 and continue their inconsistent start to the 2038 season.
The Death Stars got a big at-bat from left fielder Brian Meisner. For the game, Meisner went 2-4 with 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the eighth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 10th hit of the season gave Detroit a 4-3 lead.
"It's always a heck of a lot easier to get to sleep after a win," Meisner told the Detroit Daily News. "I know I'll rest easy tonight."
