Getting an impressive start from David Lidstone, Hawaii beat Portland by the score of 2-0. Even with the win, it has been a disastrous start to the year for the Islanders, who once had aspirations of returning to the playoffs but now find themselves mired in last place at 6-12.

Carter Kotas, who is a three-time Gold Glove Award winner, aided the Hawaii cause with a run-scoring double in the top of the first. For the game, the catcher went 2-4 with a double.

"The effort we put into this one paid off," Lidstone said.
