| Racers Roll to 11-2 Win Over Bears | The Bowling Green Racers used an offensive barrage to beat the Birmingham Bears, 11-2, at Edgbaston. Lou Schanowski led the way, going 3-for-5 for Bowling Green. Alain Picard earned the win to go to 2-0. He allowed 1 earned run on 5 hits, with no walks and 3 strikeouts. The loss drops Birmingham to 7-4.
The Racers got a big at-bat from catcher Dan Stoner. For the game, Stoner went 1-4 with a double and a walk, while adding 2 RBI. In the top of the second, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 1st double of the season gave Bowling Green a 2-1 lead.
"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Stoner told the Bowling Green Times.
