| Coal Miners Prevail, 7-6, Over Calgary | The Antioch Coal Miners beat the Calgary Kodiaks, 7-6, at Foothills Stadium. Esteban Herrera was recognized as player of the game for his performance. He went 2-4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2. The 23-year old center fielder was a menace to Calgary all day. Matsuyo Koda got the win, improving to 2-0. He worked 8 innings, giving up 6 runs on 9 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 3. Donald Barron finished to wrap up his 3rd save.
Bradley Jones went 1 for 3 with a walk for Antioch. The 19-year old shortstop had a key at-bat in the top of the second. With two out and the bases loaded, he broke a 5-5 tie with a run-scoring walk off Yoshiaga Adachi. It was his 2nd walk of the season.
"It's nice to come out on top today," said Herrera.
The Coal Miners raised their record to 6-3.
