| Redbirds Win at Detroit, 3-1 | Ramón Gómez pitched well enough to win, but it was not to be. The Detroit Death Stars, despite Gómez's fine outing, dropped a 3-1 decision to the Candiac Redbirds at The Death Star. Candiac reliever Tomas Fuentes got the win, raising his record to 1-0. Ramón Gómez was tagged with the loss. Hulusi Mumcu earned his 1st save in 1 tries.
The Redbirds got a big at-bat from right fielder Roberto Ayala. For the game, Ayala was 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the top of the first, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 5th home run of the season gave Candiac a 2-0 lead.
"I felt good up there," said Ayala. "I saw the ball well."
The Death Stars drop to 4-5 and continue their inconsistent start to the 2038 season.
