| Phantoms Win at Canton, 7-3 | The Coronado Phantoms defeated the Canton Paczkis, 7-3, at Mckinley Park today. Leading the charge for Coronado was designated hitter Danny Fernandez. He went 3-4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 times. Coronado, now 4-6, is off to a slow start.
Coronado used a timely hit from Bob Nichols to get the win. The shortstop delivered a bases-clearing triple in the top of the sixth inning to put the Phantoms on top, 5-0. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"I felt good up there," said Nichols. "I saw the ball well."
