| Argonauts Prevail, 5-4, Over Bronx | Astoria and Bronx duked it out at Bronx Ballpark and the Argonauts came out victorious.
The Astoria Argonauts did just enough to secure a 5-4 victory over the Bronx Bombers at Bronx Ballpark. Nobody did more than designated hitter Bryan Anson, who captured player of the game honors. Mitsuo Kobayashi got the win, improving to 1-1. He worked 7 innings, giving up 1 run on 5 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 3. Justin Gilmore earned his 2nd save in 2 tries.
Anson had a big at-bat with the bases loaded in the top of the sixth inning, when he hit a bases-clearing triple. The Argonauts went on to win.
"I'll probably toss and turn tonight," Bronx manager Glen Slaughter said following the tough loss.
The Argonauts have stumbled out of the gate, getting only their 3rd win in 9 games.
