| Minneapolis Wins, Leahy 3-4 | The Minneapolis Freeze beat the Candiac Redbirds, 10-7, at Municipal Stadium. The win was largely due to the efforts of first baseman Jason Leahy, who captured player of the game honors. He went 3 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 2. Minneapolis reliever Alex Alvarez picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Juan Polonia absorbed the loss. Ewan Pethick earned the save, his 4th, for the Freeze.
Logan Moran chipped in for Minneapolis with a 3-run home run in the top of the ninth. For the game, the right fielder had 2 hits in 5 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 2 runs scored, and 3 runs batted in.
"It was a solid team effort," said Leahy after the game.
The loss lowers the Candiac record to 5-5.
