| Rivera, Caterpillars Get 4-1 Win | The Peoria Caterpillars went home winners at The Coal Mine, thanks in large part to starter Tony Rivera. Rivera silenced the Antioch Coal Miners, enabling Peoria to grab the 4-1 win. With the win, Peoria improves its record to 4-4.
Rivera was in the zone all game. He frustrated Antioch hitters while giving the Caterpillars 8 innings of quality work. Rivera threw 89 pitches, allowing 3 hits and getting 5 punchouts.
"That's the key at this level, throwing strike one," said Rivera. "Successful pitchers do it."
