| Phantoms Turn Back Vancouver, 6-5 | Despite a fine performance by right fielder Pat Waxman, the Vancouver Canadians suffered a 6-5 loss to the Coronado Phantoms. Waxman was 2 for 3 with 2 singles and a walk. Coronado, now 3-2, has gotten their season off to a good start.
Roland Philippe aided the Coronado cause with a 2-run double in the bottom of the third. For the game, the left fielder was 1 for 4 with a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"I'm just happy to help the team win," Philippe told the Coronado Today.
