Bombers Turn Back Peoria, 5-3

The Bronx Bombers beat the Peoria Caterpillars, 5-3, at Excavatar Park. Bronx third baseman Masanori Kato earned player of the game honors with an outstanding performance. He was 2 for 5 with a home run and a double. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Bronx reliever Sal Delgadillo picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Jesse Huckins was saddled with the loss. With the win, Bronx is 1-1.

With Bronx leading 1-0 in the top of the fifth, Kato hit a slider from Jesse Huckins for a 2-run home run. It was his 2nd home run of the season and put the Bombers ahead, 3-0.

"Winning the game is always the first objective," Kato said.
