| Hornets Win at Maple, 10-6 | The Eureka Hornets topped the Maple Marauders, 10-6, with shortstop Jesus Rivera playing a big role. Rivera was 3 for 4 with 3 singles and a walk, while scoring 3 times for the Hornets in the win. Ramón Martínez finished the game for Eureka and earned his 1st save. With the loss, Maple is 10-7.
Eureka used the timely hitting of Fernando Vela to seize the win. The right fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the fifth inning to put the Hornets on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"It was offense that won us the game," said winning manager Stephen Jackson.
