| Late Rally by Caterpillars Secures Win | The Peoria Caterpillars started the 2038 season win an impressive 5-2 win against the Bronx Bombers at Excavatar Park. Jack Mainjer was named player of the game.
A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the bottom of the eighth, with the game tied, Angelo Gomez was at the plate when Peoria scored 2 on an error. The miscue enabled the Caterpillars to go in front, 4-2.
"I'm not out here to win a beauty contest," said Gomez. "Obviously."
