| Baristas Get Past Cairo for 2-1 Win | The Silver Lake Baristas started the 2038 season win an impressive 2-1 win against the Cairo Sphinx at Ashton Gate. Douggie Pitchford was named player of the game. Silver Lake reliever Kenny Moran was the winner. His record is now 1-0. Mitsuzuka Koyama took the loss.
Silver Lake took advantage of an error in the bottom of the eighth inning. The game was tied, 1-1, when Toshikasu Okuda hit a run-scoring single that was misplayed. It put Silver Lake in front, 2-1.
"Our guys are never satisfied," said Silver Lake manager Diego Aguirre.
