The Chippewa River Chiefs started the 2038 season win an impressive 4-1 win against the Charleston Panthers at The Reservation. Kevin Miller, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2033 draft, was named player of the game. Paul Childers earned the save, his 1st, for the River Chiefs.

Willie Gallego aided the Chippewa cause with a 2-run single in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the center fielder went 1 for 5, while adding 2 RBI.

"Our guys are never satisfied," said Chippewa manager Eric Rice.
