| Coal Miners Win at Astoria, 6-3 | Fans brought energy and enthusiasm to the Astoria Argonauts home opener. Dave Hamm started for the home team against Zack Hogan for the Antioch Coal Miners. The Argonauts were unable to reward the home crowd with a win. The final score was 6-3, Antioch. Dave Hamm was named player of the game. Donald Barron earned the save, his 1st, for the Coal Miners.
The Coal Miners got a big at-bat from center fielder Esteban Herrera. For the game, Herrera was 2 for 4 with 2 doubles. In the top of the sixth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 2nd double of the season gave Antioch a 4-3 lead.
"Our guys are never satisfied," said Antioch manager Hervé Barthélémy.
